Abstract

Pertama kali penyakit koronavirus (COVID-19) ini dikesan di Hubei, China, pada pertengahan Disember 2019, ianya telah terus merebak dengan cepat sehingga ke serata dunia. Ia dihantar daripada individu yang dijangkiti  kepada hubungan langsung atau rapat mereka melalui titisan pernafasan dan permukaan yang tercemar. Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) mengesyorkan beberapa langkah pencegahan untuk membendung virus itu. Antaranya ialah dengan membasuh tangan dengan sabun dan air, menggunakan sanitizer tangan, memakai topeng muka, dan mengamalkan penjarakan sosial. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap pencegahan COVID-19 di Malaysia dan menentukan langkah pencegahan yang paling biasa diamalkan dalam kalangan rakyat Malaysia. Kajian itu melibatkan 1,230 peserta yang direkrut melalui teknik persampelan mudah. Data dikumpul melalui satu set soal selidik, yang dianalisis menggunakan SPSS versi 26. Keputusan menunjukkan tahap langkah pencegahan dalam kalangan rakyat Malaysia adalah tinggi (M=3.31). Penjarakan sosial (M= 3.75) merupakan tindakan pencegahan yang paling biasa diamalkan, diikuti dengan tinggal di rumah (M=3.72).
